Be prepared to get a phone call at some point from a pissed off customer about carfax knowing their vehicle has been in an accident. Meaning every estimate you wrote gets sold to companies like carfax. One of the biggest draw backs imo is that CCC bills themselves as an information company and therefore sells everything you put into their system. Also when writing for recycled parts CCC does not take into account overlaps so you have to manually overwrite labor to make sure you’re not over charging for items. It writes from the outside in so you’ll have to write for additional items to make sure you get the time you deserve. ![]() This allows you to handle the assignment with fewer delays since the insurance company treats you as a de facto DRP with a bit of oversight. You’ll also have the ability to receive what they call open shop assignments from insurance companies if you choose to. Their affiliations with insurance companies will open several doors if you want to go that route. ![]() In my experience it is easier to navigate and they do have a lot of in’s with insurance companies. CCC is one of the most widely utilized systems in the industry.
